Cathedral of Faro

The Visigothic church was transformed to mosque in the Arab period and refashioned to a Christian church after the Reconquest in 1240. It suffered works motivated by serious fire in 1596, as a result of the attack of English troops to Faro and the earthquakes of 1722 and 1755. It is  classified as a Nacional Monument.
