Sagres Fort


Also known as Sagres Castle or Fort of Sagres, sagres fortress are located into the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina. The fortress of Sagres is a fortification of abaluarta architectural style or Italian track to face the development of artillery, built in the 1450 in the reign of Afonso V of Portugal. In 1755, the fortress was damaged by the tsunami following the earthquake, and only in 1777 in the reign of D. Maria I were ordered to rebuild the structure. In the fortress of Sagres in addition to be able to enjoy the structures prior to the 17th century allows us to visit the various areas of the promontory.
