Expired: “A certain point of view” – Exhibition of paintings by Ana André

Event entered in the “A certain point of view” Exhibition of paintings by Ana André Ana André spent most of her childhood summers at Faro Beach. Today, some years later, the memory of those happy and carefree days bolsters the notion of “beach” as the place that everyone desires; it is the modern “Eden”, a utopian place of well-being, where times slows down and every concern offers a window of opportunity for everlasting happiness. And also, in a local context, the problematic site of the demanded environmental rehabilitation, which threatens the population’s ways of life and income. Ana André touches on all of this – as one would expect in paintings – through light. It is the strange and fleeting luminosity of dusk, of border, where the colours change with every minute and the world changes with them, opening up a universe of unexpected possibilities… About the artist Ana André was born in Faro, the city where she currently lives and works. She studied Painting and Drawing at Ar.Co in Lisbon and Visual Arts at the University of Algarve. She has been exhibiting at individual and group exhibitions in Portugal and abroad since 1995. Her work essentially focuses on painting and drawing but she occasionally uses photography, sound and video too. 03 March, 2018 to 08 April, 2018 . Portimão
