An arrest warrant has been issued for an accounting officer for the Braga delegation of Estradas de Portugal (road authority) who failed to turn up at his trial in Braga on Monday. At time of writing, António Paiva Costa had still not been located by authorities. He is accused of “diverting” up to 250,000 euros of company ‘income’ which he is believed to have spent on ‘sexual encounters’.

His trial however opened without him.
