Tomorrow (May 25) is D-Day for sweeping new changes to Europe’s data protection regulations. A study has shown that only only 8% of Portuguese businesses are ready while reports in the press affirm“the government wants fines going up to €20 million for companies that violate personal data”.

Already at least one Portuguese Start-Up has closed its doors – saying “it is just not possible for a startup to comply with the requirements of this highly demanding new regime” – while other firms and businesses are described as “entering into panic”.
