Thousands of trees are due to be planted in the Algarve by the end of the year as part of two reforestation initiatives.

The first is entitled ‘Operação Montanha Verde’, an initiative promoted by Zoomarine theme park which has planted thousands of trees in Algarve areas consumed by wildfires since 2016.

This year, it will be carried out on November 23 in Silves, Loulé, Portimão and Monchique, and aims to plant a record 21,000 trees.
